ITG Drop-In Filter for R50
ITG Drop-In Filter for R50
I've heard a lot of talk about the benefits of the K&N drop-in filter, but I don't see it at WMW or anywhere else for the R50. Is the ITG foam filter the same basic design? If it improves throttle response or fuel economy at all, as I've read, it's probably worth the $40.
Can anyone with a non-s comment on a foam filter, K&N, ITG, or whatever?
Thanks

I used to have one and I loved it. If you aren't looking for an all out intake, then the ITG is what I would use. Good throttle response improvement and the sound was much better, even with a stock exhaust!
WIth that being said, I ordered an aFe intake from VAC Motorsport in Philly, PA (Big BMW shop) and I have loved every minute of it. The sound is much more aggressive, the response is a bit better, and it is a dry filter, meaning no oil to clean and gunk stuff up. Easy to clean through washing, shaking, etc... and all for about $180 shipped.

Thanks, that's exactly the info I was looking for! I've considered going with the full CAI but can't decide if it's worthwhile (actual power gain.) or if it's all placebo and marketing.
The ITG drop in filter is good for 1-2hp. If your looking at intakes check out or WAY/DDM intake. We even have the dyno sheets to prove the torque gains, which you can feel when driving.
