Possible Stupid Tire question...

So, if I switch my 17" tires to "All-Season Tires"....are they still run flats?

But it's still a good idea to keep the reccomended air pressure in them. Just 'cause they run flat, don't mean you should run 'em flat.

Go to the Tire Rack site they are on this forum

Tire Rack has a bunch of All Saeson Run-Flat tires to choose from. When you purchase the new tires you need to tell the tire guy you want to buy run-flats.

Depends on what you mean by "switch". Are you having the dealer switch tires on a R60 that you ordered/purchasing or are you purchasing tires from a tire company? The dealer should be installing run flats. If purchasing tires from a tire store, you need to specify that you want or do not want run-flats.

Thanks all....I suppose I should have clarified a bit more. Haven't purchased yet (soon...very soon)- i've just heard so many talking about the noise of the run flats and how they are switching ASAP, i just thought I'd go right to non RF's (incorrectly assuming that the switch at BTO option to "all season" were non run flats). Sounds like my All Seasons will be RF.

wow--- that message probably sounded way more confusing than it needed to be.

Thanks again!

I have been driving though not as much as you see from my signature and to be honest the car is very very quiet not as much as a hybrid where one does not know if the engine is running.

I have mostly done gridlock driving or screaming down I-95 and in both cases very little road noise. My other car has Michelin Primacy and they sound louder than these babies.

And with no spare, RFs seem to make sense.

They might have been able to get a spare up underneath the boot. After looking at it there appears to be room for a spare underneath but the exhaust pipe runs straight down the center to the muffler.

Order the summer performance tires from factory. Run them bold as quickly as you can. Then get real performance summer tires. For snow belt folks, get winter tires/wheels. Purchase a conti comfort kit in case of flat tires.

I'm not sure my location (Alaska) will warrant the advantage of the Summer tires (hell, i'm lucky if we break above 65 in summer!). But this info has all been great. This forum rocks....
