Are the Cooper S's lower than the basic Cooper? It seem's everytime I see an S, it look's lower?

 

i think i red somewhere that the cooper's with 15's are actually 8mm
lower (less ground clearance) than the MCS with 16's and 17's.

 

Well, actually the fender gap looks less

When my cooper had 15"s it was noticeably lower then it was with 16"s

 

I really haven't noticed that much of a difference. My wife's '02 Cooper has 15" 8-spoke wheels (Standard suspension) and my '04 MCS has the 16" V-spokes and SS+ suspension. Will park them side by side to see it, but maybe her Cooper ;ooks a bit lower than my MCS.

 

was the sports suspension consist of springs, swaybar, and struts? or was it
just the springs and struts? (can't remember).

Usually the wide sidewall's on 15's 16's make the car look lowered, but
if the 17's are making the car look lowered than the 15's, then it may well
be that the car IS lower (?).
