XM Blitzsafe install and upgrading HU

I'm about to update my HU (Alpine X305s), there's currently an XM receiver in the car attached to the CD Changer harness. I'm wondering if that will simply transfer over to the new head unit. I'm assuming that it will, since, as far as I can tell, the Blitzsafe is a unit on the mBus. But before I tear things out I'd like to know if I also need to re-wire the XM.

There should be two components back there. The Blitzsafe unit which simulates the factory Sirius option and an XM Direct module that does the actual satellite tuning. The Blitzsafe will be useless after you switch HUs because it's meant for the factory radio only. The XM Direct may be compatible. I'm not familar with how Alpine works with satellite radio, but if they have an adapter or have direct connections for an XM Direct module, then you'll be in luck. Otherwise you'll probably need a whole new compatible XM tuner to connect to the HU and move your subscription over.
