I know this may sound terrible but I have had my Clubman for 2 weeks now and I have caught myself over the speed limit constantly. I just can't help it. I hit a back road with some curves or I get on the highway next thing you know I look down and I am 10-15-20 mph over the posted speed.

I might have to get into a twelve step program. I never drove like this with my VW Jetta. Yesterday I had to stomp on the brakes twice when I saw a police car.

It's really not fair to have car that is this much fun to drive and not be able to drive it the way I want. I also believe that the Clubman rides and drives better at higher speeds. Anyone have similiar experiences or input.

 

i can empathize. the mini is a very fun car to drive. much more enjoyable than my stuffy 550i. just try to drive safely and avoid the bad drivers on the road. hehe.

I too suffer from this "illness". The only advice I would give is to seek out your nearest race track (or autocross if you prefer the twisties) and enjoy your car in a closed course where most of the other drivers actually know how to drive. Once you've done this a couple times, you'll realize how many really bad drivers there are out there and it will probably make you stop speeding cold turkey. Then again, I've driven the speed limit and have almost gotten smashed into by oncoming jerks who refuse to recognize what a red light means. In any case, be safe out there!

Save the speed for the track. In the meantime, get a Valentine 1. It'll pay for itself!

 

Those signs are just suggested limits. Everyone knows the tires squeal when you are at the real limit.
