Consumer Reports' new Countryman

According to this blog post, the boys at Consumer Reports just got their Countryman for testing. It's a red ALL4 automatic. Initial reaction is positive; they're waiting til 2,000 miles to weigh in with their official verdict.

Should be interesting. I find it good that he got around 25mpg in his commute loop. Must have a light foot.

I found it enlightening how he included a link to the Juke blog where he said "my buddy's 23-year-old daughter's first comment upon seeing the Juke was "Eww".

This reinforces my belief that I did the right thing in getting the Countryman over the Juke. I think I originally convinced myself that I would like the looks of the Juke, but I just find it looking more like Pontiac Aztek II each day.

I soured on the Juke when I bashed my skull on entry to the rear seats (sloping roofline) and then found no leg room once back there.

The Countryman does have an amazing amount of leg and headroom, even with the sunroof!

I'm all for quirky styling, as long as it's done well. But the Juke, eh.....not so much.....
