Drivetrain Acorns in the intake
Acorns in the intake
Took the air filter apart on my JCW and was dumfounded to find acorns under the flat filter in the bottom half of the filter box. How do those critters get in there? This was part of the R&R to install the Alta cold side silicon tube,a real tight fit. What kind of mouse trap do I need?
If it is rats or mice you are plagued with, go to
http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/easterly110.html for a great trap idea. If on the other hand, squirrels are up to no good you'll need a bigger barrel with something sticky in it instead of water. Squirrels are pretty nimble.

I had field mice eat the wiring of my off-road lights on my Xterra once, sprayed the engine bay with a habanero solution and it never happened again. Not an ideal solution because of the obvious residue all over the engine bay but it worked.
Acorns in the intake
The solution to the chipmunks using my intake as a safe deposit box seems simple after I looked at it. I will make up a wire mesh cover for the intake at the front headlight(2009 JCW) out of 1/4" wire screen. this should let all the air in and keep the chipmunks out.Take it easy,But take it Ken R.
