Motd
Try to find lodging close to Fontana Village since that is where all the events/vendors are and from where most drives depart.
According to Hal, you should attend some of the DIY sessions but personally I'm going to drive so I'll be skipping those in lieu of putting rubber on the road.
There's a great list on the MOTD site of things you should pack and a great guide of what maintenance you should do before heading out. . .be sure to check them both out.
If this is your first time on the Dragon you should try to attend Minibee's Newbie Orientation or at least watch his video.
And lastly, come prepared to meet lots of great MINI people from all over these beautiful United States. Oh, and to take LOTS of pictures!

Thanks Dawn,
I found a room at the Microtel in Robbinsville, I had to get a double with 2 beds. If any one from the Middle Tennessee MINIs wants to double up, let me know via the face book page....

I stayed there last year and it was very clean and nice people. It was also great having Internet when I got back to the room! It was mostly MINIs staying there.
Last year was my first year and it was a blast. I second what Dawn said about taking the orientation run/video, it was very helpful and let you see it all at a slow(er) pace. If you have a two-way radio, it is very helpful to keep in contact on the runs and hear announcements. If you don't, I have a few extra's I can let you borrow. There is a car wash in Robbinsville and hoses at Fontana if you want to bring any supplies, I was glad to see that! Like Dawn also said, take lots of pictures! I think I wore a camera out last year there was so many cool things to take pictures of.
Are you going to join us for the drive up Wednesday?

Thanks for the reply, I have a set of radios from another application, and I have watched the orientation video on driving the dragon, but attending in person I'm sure will be more beneficial. Would love to join up on Wednesday. for the drive . can we meet somewhere on the road, as Franklin is a bit out of the way for me, as I’m in Clarksville TN.
