I went with Polar Beige for a lighter look.

Interior looks great! Very excited as I ordered the exact same look. I'm a little concerned about keeping the seat clean and will likely cover them.
Thoughts?

Cover them? Why? If you like the look, enjoy the look. Just clean it periodically and you will be fine. Covering only saves them for what? Later? Enjoy now...

Consider the dealer application of leather protector. We did with our '11 X5 with oyster leather and it is guaranteed against stain for 4 yrs. Just maintain once a month with a quality leather cleaner and you will be fine.

Hard call...I like the Polar Beige as I like the contrast, but IWC's seats are gorgeous...reminds me of a Bentley.

Thanks rockinolla! I agree, a leather applicator with good maintenance will do the trick. Don't put on covers for the next owners to appreciate. Own it!
Btw, how much did the dealer charge you for the leather applicator?

Great Counter Points to Seat Covers

Midnight Blue & IWC: I didn't think of it from that prospective. Great point(s)!

RocknRolla: I too am curious about the dealer application cost.

All, Thanks for the feedback! Two other issues that I'm trying to balance/consider/confirm:

1. I've been told that the Polar Beige will simply get stained by wearing blue jeans. Seems extreme to me. I read it here on this forum, and was curious if anyone else could chim in.

2. Here in the desert (just outside of Death Valley), leather seats can be brutal on the legs. My wife sometimes sits on a towel until the seats cool down (I always feel bad).

3. Leather Cleaner: I'll continue to do research, but I was curious if Lexol Conditioner & Cleaner were still good products or if I should think about other leather cleaner products.

I am getting the cloth/leather seats for just that reason. I have cloth seats in my current (2003) MINI and they have held up really well, and are very comfortable in hot or cool weather. I greatly prefer cloth seats over leather.

I agree 100%. Down here in Texas cloth is the way to go. The leather trim will look nice too. Best of both worlds!

1. I had a 135 with Lemon seats a little lighter than Polar Beige and they stained from blue jeans, seat belts and greasy goons at the dealer. They were a pain in the butt to care for and I spent half my time cleaning them. I finely just covered them with a sheet to protect them. Even though it was the most beautiful interior I have ever had I would never do it again. We went with the Pure Red cloth leather this time.

IIRC, it was around $400. We negotiated the price on all the extras, as we added tire warranty and ding repair owing to where my wife has to park each day. I blew a run flat on an old X5 and the replacement was around $650, so spending $1200 on the tire/rim coverage was a no brainer considering the amount of new home construction in our area and the screws and other debris that is left behind.

Oooooh, desert heat is another issue all together...I honestly think I would do one of the fabric seats if it was me...can't stand the clamminess from being too hot on leather.

I was thinking the same thing. Here's another twist, as active duty we know we'll be departing the desert inside of 6 months and have no idea where to next.

Ironically, maybe even to another desert (although not as hot here...115-120 kills me; and I know there's worse). So we just picked what we like and hope for the best. What else can you do.
