can I fit 15" rims on my "s"model clubman

I have looked online, and some people say they can fit the 15" rims on their "s" model MINI's. some people say no, because of the brakes being slightly bigger.

through research, i have found that the breaks are bigger by .5 inches, i think. i would imagine this would be enough to make it not work, because 17" rims barely have more than an inch of space between the calipers and the rim. I get snow stuck in there and can barely get it out.

on the other hand, i had a 2004 MINI cooper s that tiresplus said i could put 15's on if i wanted for the winter. So maybe they would fit.

i have a 2010 MINI cooper s, so does anyone know if the 15" will fit for sure.
If they do fit, i can buy a cheap lightly used set with Blizzaks on them. cause i just bent a rim on my 17" this winter already. can't deal with these potholes that are unavoidable all winter.

If anyone knows where i can get some cheap rims and tires for the winter, I live in St paul,MN.

thanks

15" wheels will not clear the front brake calipers of a second generation Cooper-S or Clubman-S...16" just clear. We have a '09 Clubman-S with 16" steel wheels with Blizzak tires and the inside of the wheels just clear the front calipers by less then 1/4". The "S" cars have bigger front brakes then the regular Coopers.

On my 2003 JCW, I have the JCW brake package (Which are the R56 S brakes).

I run 15x7.5" rims with 30 offset and they clear (very close fit). I had to have the wheel weights placed on the inside of the rim, closest to the strut, so they would not hit the outside of the caliper.

15's will fit on a 2004 but not a 2010. More specifically, a small number of aftermarket 15's may fit but none of the OEM 15's will.

like rkw said, there are a select couple of aftermarket ones that do... I believe they are some of the pricier lightweight racing-type ones. Even then, like also said above, you have to be very careful about weight placement.

Just stick to the 16s
