Mini Connected Office function - phones that truly work?

Hello everyone. Has anyone found phones that will actually work with the office functionality? Email, text etc being displayed. I have been to the site and looked at what is supposed to work but many of those are way out of date phones. Interested in what works not what is supported per say. I'm on the Sprint network and the site say there are no phones that support this function.

I checked compatibility on www.mini.com/connectivity

4 phones on AT&T are compatible with the office function

RIM/Blackberry Pearl 3G 9100
Sony Ericsson W350a
Sony Ericsson W518a
Sony Ericsson W760a

(iphone was not listed)

Nothing showing available for Sprint network

The list is abysmal and woefully behind the times.

What is the "office function"? Is it part of MINI Connected, or something separate? MINI Connected currently works ONLY with iPhone (they are probably working on an Android version).

I think you're looking at a Bluetooth compatibility list (not for MINI Connected). It is always way out of date and only lists phones they have tested themselves.

On the MINI website I listed you can check based on carrier and functions. You can check the "office" function to see what is compatible. The "Office" function allows you to check email as part of MINI Connected.

I tried voice commands also using iPad and nothing happened.

Herein lies the confusion...

MINI Connected is both the name of an option and the name of an app (currently available only for iPhone). In the US, MINI Connected, the option, is required if you get nav. Or you can just get the MINI Connected option without the nav. This gives you the color screen and all of the various on screen settings and functions other than Nav. This would include music, album artwork, videos, telephony, car settings, radio, trip computer, and Office amongst other things.

Office is indeed dependent on the support of the phone attached via Bluetooth. For my Storm2, Office only shows contacts though a fully supported phone will also show calendar, text messages, notes and more (not sure about email and I don't have my manual nearby).

So no, Office is not part of MINI Connected (the app) hence is not restricted to iPhones.

Confused yet?
