How Hackers Can Use Smart Keys To Steal Cars
An interesting article on Jalopnik discussing some recent Swedish research into how hackers and would-be thieves can hack cars and steal them without a trace of forced entry/hotwire etc.
Pretty scary stuff!

If they want to steal / vandalize your car, there is almost nothing stopping them.
Yes there are deterrents but at the end of the day almost any car can be towed off.
Just be smart, don't leave things out and don't draw that much attention to yourself. The decent thing about our cars is only other mini people can buy the parts so that helps. Just be lucky you don't drive an escalade.

Luckily this requires smarts and technology. It seemed like every month someone posted a video on a forum (I had a Ford Ranger a few years ago). We all knew it was a problem and could be done but to advertise it was not something the mods liked so it led to many locked and deleted threads. Basically you could break into the truck using the radio antenna from the truck. Not sure how but it was kind of scary/funny to see how it could happen to anyone.
