Probably going to be getting window tint on the CM when she arrives next month. What is the going rate for window tint from a reputable place. I would rather pay more and get it done right.....mini dealer offered but I can't remember at what price. Does the dealer do a good job?

 

My mini/bmw dealer quoted me $399...I have nothing to compare it to.

 

A couple of guys at work just had their non-MINI cars done (but not by their car dealer), and they paid about two bills apiece, so apparently the dealer has a stiff mark-up on that stuff!

 

I was quoted $170 at a shop I have used a couple times in the past. Just waiting for a couple days above 40 degrees to get it done

 

Smart move. That's because delaers have a third party installer do the work for them and then they add their 25-30% mark up.

180.00 with 20% tint same people did three other cars. The Countryman has those two extra little windows in the back I thought they were going to have a problem, but it came out perfect.

 

Dealer in Oklahoma quoted me $250 with a lifetime warranty.
Which I probably will do!

 

Dealer in Portland quoted $250 which I'm going to do. It's likely an extra $50 but having the dealer stand behind it seems like it's worth the money.

 

$220 with ceramic 15%. And they did the side reflectors on the wheel wells.

 

I didn't realize you could get the side reflectors tinted...do they all do this?

I'm looking at two place right now near me. One is an authorized dealer for 3M products. The other place uses SolarGard which seems good too. Not sure which is better? The place that uses SolarGard promotes that they use computer cut technology.
