My wife named my Clubman "mumbles" cause it makes funny noises after I shut the engine down. I assume some of the sounds have to do with the oil moving through the turbo or something to that effect. How long is it supposed to do that and does it vary with temp. No big deal just curious.

Correct, it's based on temp, anywhere to 5 - 15mins.
Also, it's a auxiliary coolant pump that's circulating coolant.

Thanks blue fox I was starting to get a complex, no one replied.

 

The only sound I hear is something like a fan after I switch off on warm days. Sometimes the fan runs a minute or 2, sometimes longer. I heard it on the day I took delivery of mine in May, 2010, and called my MA after I got home because the sound made me nervous. I thought something was wrong, but my MA told me that something would be wrong if the engine did NOT make that sound.
