Has anyone seen a cooper, other than computer edited, with polished 17" stock alluminums. I think this would look awsome. Im asking around but haven't found anyone that does it. Any help out there?

Cheers

Check in the Galleries....
Either in the Modded MINI Gallery or Members MINI gallery. Someone here has done it. I'm pretty sure it was on a Chili Red S.
Hope this helps,
SW

Have you found that they peal or anything strange? I really think this looks good, would love to do it, just a little aprehensive. I've seen personalized crome before, and I haven't been happy with the result. Yours , on the other hand, looks great. Looks to be no heat marks or chips at all. Whats a good place to go to...wheel shops? Machine shops?
Heres the link Chilli Red

Cheers

I must confess I was a little apprehensive to do this, having never done it before, but it was relatively painless. I came across this tire shop that had a relationship with a chromer in Anahiem.

For $500 they chromed all 4. Typically what they do is just swap you a set of chromed wheels for your wheels and it's zip em on and zip the new ones on. The problem of course with the mini is that they did not have a set of mini wheels because it was so new. So, I had to put up with a set of black steel wheels for the 4 days it took them to chrome the wheels.

Now that they are on, I love em. Especially with the car lowered. I have no chipping issues, and in fact they don't "look" as dirty from the brake dust as the stock grey color.

Of course....you gotta be extra careful parking next to curbs....the wheels WILL hit before the tires...so they can get damaged easily.

Good luck!!

I'm sure they look great, and yes, be careful when parking, I whacked my 17'' Allessio silver wheels (well, one of them) I would think chrome would make my LTL YELO even better. It was just a little nick, but it sure P.M.O.
