R56 Back in the family!
Back in the family!
Hello all!
Very happy day as I just ordered my 2011 MCS in MB\MB and lots of goodies!
I was very happy after driving the 2011 today and feeling the improved clutch feel...Also drove a Countryman All4 S, wow it was sweet! Did not drive "big" at all, very composed and MINI-like. I really have no need for the extra storage, so back to my hatchback. My VW GTI has been flawless and is still a great buy for the money. I'm come to see that owning a MINI is SPECIAL, and really does make me happier every day to just drive! Happy New Year to you all, wish me luck for my 5-7 difficult weeks ahead!

Wife needs a new ride
She likes her big ride, Yukon XL, and likes sitting above the crowd. Since we are 3 hours away from our closest dealer, I would love to hear your take on the test drive of the Countryman All4 S.
Thanks,
Robert
Thanks all!
My GTI was\is a 2009 with 6 speed and checkered cloth, 17'' wheels and no sunroof. Wicked 6 disc 10 speaker stereo..drives and operates soo smooth.
All the driver interfaces are logical and easy to use. It just doesn't have that specialness that a MINI brings.
As for the Countryman All4 S....wow I almost bought one. Except for the slightly higher seating position and tiny bit less of cornering prowess, you could be driving an S hatchback. It felt very solid and again did not feel big at all. I think they are going to sell a lot of them!

I wonder how many of us traded GTIs in on our MINIs? I'd owned a '98 VR6 since new when I swapped it for the MCS last December. The GTI, especially with the six, is regarded as a pretty fine driver - but the contrast with the MINI was striking. The VW just felt big and soft after I'd test-driven a Cooper S.
