Cracked Spark Plug?

I took my 09MCS to the dealer due to really bad MPG's and they said that when looking it over they found a cracked Spark Plug. He then went on to tell me that i should be using good gas and thats when i cut him off and said that ive only used 93 octane the entire time Ive owned the car. He then changed course and said I should be using Chevron and Texacco only. Come again???? No where in any literature it says anything about a gas company specific recommendation. I have a weird feeling there trying to get out of future repairs....

Exactly what they are trying to do IMHO. Dealers are notorious for this especially on small stuff.

While I agree with the BS claim of bad fuel, MINI recommends the use of Top Tier Fuels. This is from my dealerships service department: http://www.miniofftmyers.com/MiscPage_2

It doesn't matter what yout old him, he would blame the gas. Ask how the gas cracked a plug glass. LOL Tell them you only use top tier gas and that will shut them up most of the time since it is what BMW wants. The link above is a good site and there have been several additions since I looked last. Shell, Texaco, Chevron, and Conoco have always been there. I'll bet dollars to donuts they fill it at the closest cheapest station they can find when the dealer fills it.
