Stolen!!!

I've lost faith in people... again!

Someone had the b*lls to steel my checkered valve stem caps. WHY?! It's not like they're exspensive... or hard to find. GO BUY YOUR OWN!!!!!

Anyone know if anyone has locking checkered caps?

Sorry to hear that. There are so many dishonest people out there. It's really difficult to keep the faith.

I don't know of any locking caps. I do know it's a popular item to steal. I've heard that kids steal them to use on their bikes.

Probably kids taking them for their bikes.

I know if you was in Florida*****

It would 100% be kids for their valve cap collection.

The kids around Daytona use them as trading cards.

It really is a problem that isn't going to go away so just buy 1,000 or more valve caps when you place your order.

I had my stock ones stolen by the nice folks at Merchants Tires when they were installing my new tires. And they weren't accidentally left off, they put some crap rubber ones on instead. Needless to say, I won't be going back there.

Merchants is the worst. The aboslute worst.
Did the same to me.

Actually just tires is worse than them.

I only go to small privately owned independant shops now.

I had kids stealing them off of mine and my customers cars while parked in my parking lot. I finally spotted the kids that were doing it, so I waited for them to come around again, When I saw them near a car, I called a buddy of mine who was a cop to intercept them with the patrol car. He then escorted them home to ask their parents why they were stealing my caps. They were forced to apologize to me and I struck a deal with them, I told them, I would sell them a pair of caps for $1. I bought a set of 4 chrome caps for 50 cents and resold them to these punks for $1 a pair. Justice!

Metal valve caps are the larva stage for metal coat hangers. Look in your closet to find your old valve caps. Plastic valve caps just multiply.

I had 2 Mini center caps stolen while at Pet's Mart in Melboure, FL.
Little #astards tried to get all 4 but didn't get them.
Scratched the rims to hell and back.
Local police told me that druggies in the area were taking them for pawn or jewelry.
I remember in the 80's that Mercedes hood emblems were a big fad.
Never thought that a human being would stoop so low as to steal valve caps.

Jerseybird97: that is terrible! I have those same valve caps, so I will be on the lookout for any stooping around my car. . .

I have heard of people stealing old metal antennas from cars because they would use the hollow antenna as a straw for smoking/inhaling drugs. (I'm a former prosecutor . . .)

Thats because Pets Mart in Melbourne is the freaking ghetto. There are all those crappy apartments up and down 192 and they have no where else to go but that whole parking lot and the mall and steal and screw with people's stuff.

I am glad the MINI's haven't been stolen yet, but I had some chrome ones stolen off of a Ranger I used to have.

If I didn't love my MINI so much, I'd look into a James Bond security system.

I run the stock TPMS caps on the Mini because I was always "loosing" the chrome one I had on my Celica. I even wrenched them the on before and they disappeared...

I have learned my lesson.
I don't drive "Merlin" south of Pineda Causeway.

When I lived in Orlando I had to go to FL. Hospital for some tests.
Drove my Alfa 2000 Spider, parked in hospital garage.
Came out 2 hrs. later and all 4 wheels were gone.
4 security cameras, 3 guards, 1 roving guard in golf cart SAW NOTHING, HEARD NOTHING.

What a world we live in now.

When I was a ******** kid I "relocated" them. Took them off one car and put them on a different car. Sometimes I mixed and matched.

at least it was just valve caps. My buddy has an S2000 and they steal his antennas. Even when he glues them on. They find a way. He just gave up listening to radio anymore. lol
