High Plains Raceway wants to say Thank You and Merry Christmas to all the members of the CAMA clubs and our customers who have not only made HPR possible, but have made it very successful in its first two seasons!

It is with great pleasure that the CAMA Board of Directors announces that there will be two FREE days of Open Lapping during the week between Christmas and New Years.
  • * The exact two days (between Sunday - Thursday) will be announced via the track hotline (303-769-4771) and email blast on Christmas Eve based on the weather forecast for the following week.
    * These days will be open to anyone who is a member of any CAMA club or was a customer of HPR in 2010
    * Both cars and motorcycles are welcome and will be run in separate sessions (minimum of two sessions - cars and bikes, either group will be broken down further if necessary).
    * Winter schedule - gates open at 9am, track hot from 10-4 with no lunch break.
    * Ambulance and Corner Workers will be provided as usual.
    * Raceway Café will be closed so bring snacks and drinks.
    * Giveaways on both days!

Should be and I suspect I will be getting an email from HPR or RMVR.

If I do I will post it up for the interested folks.

Update in today....

From an email by HPR.

The free Open Lapping days will be SUNDAY, December 26th and TUESDAY, December 28th. Hopefully this schedule will allow for participation by people who have to return to work during the week, and those who may still have guests in town immediately after Christmas day.
  • These days will be open to anyone who is a member of any CAMA club or was a customer of HPR in 2010
  • Both cars and motorcycles are welcome and will be run in separate sessions (minimum of two sessions - cars and bikes, either group will be broken down further if necessary).
  • Winter schedule - gates open at 9am, track hot from 10-4 with no lunch break.
  • Ambulance and Corner Workers will be provided as usual.
  • Raceway Café will be closed so bring snacks and drinks.
  • Giveaways on both days!
Come on out and say goodbye to 2010 in style at YOUR TRACK, High Plains Raceway!

They were lapping a bunch today, I went out late to take some pictures.

Saw one CR MIN/White top going by the Sinclair Station about 1:45 as I topped up.

Two R53s were doing some laps as I watched, Nate and Matt, both looked to be pretty fast and setup well.

Took some pictures, went out with Matt in his R53 with Dinan tune options, Wilwoods, Dunlop Star spec/OZ light wheels and JCW exhaust system, two fast laps as a passenger.

Matt managed to do what others have almost done, make the old man nauseous. Damn those Wilwoods grab.......

Pictures on FB or look in my Picasa.

Don

Still contemplating Tuesday, maybe out there by 9:30 lapping to 1 or 1:30, then home.

It will be cool, tires will be hard, so casual laps in the AM, then lunch, if anyone is interested.

If it is wet or snowy I will be a no-show.

Will look for you Rich and the Corrado versus Zug.

It was cold, 30 according to BLU, as I pulled into the track at 9:20 am. Plenty of time to make the drivers meeting at 9:40 am. Pulled in next to a family that has a early 911 Targa and a 2004 Indi blue/white roof MCS. The MCS was new to them and the father had his 2 daughters with him, the older of the two would be driving the MCS. Chris, Cami's other half, was there with his Corrado and Don showed up shortly after the drivers meeting. There were 3 groups for the day, the Fast group, the Slow group and the Motorcycles. Chris, Don, the family's MCS and myself stayed in the Slow group. Wow this was AWESOME! I had so much fun. I setup my Go Pro Hero on the 2nd session on BLU, so I will post that as soon as I see what I got from it. After the 2nd session Loyd also showed up, and went out for the 3rd session, which I cut short due to a lack of go juice in the tank, BLU said he was getting about 13 mpg with my foot to the floor thru most of the laps. More to come later, thanks again to Don for getting this posted, it was AWESOME!

It was cold on track but a few laps took care of it.

Rich and Bluuuu, did real well, it could be addicting.

I found out the Nitto Neo Gen's drift really nicely.

Here are 3 pics from Today, you can see more in the picasa area.

Don

The group early at 30 degrees around 10AM.

Rich's Bluuu.

Don's Scooter, needs new rotors. Rich checking torque on his wheels, well done!

Is it Spring yet, need more lapping.

Very nice video, to bad the battery died just as I was making the pass on the P car.

We need to find a way to filter the sound pickup.

Thanks for shooting 2 laps of me.

I fixed the nasty sound this had and added a Soundtrack that I think is a little more catchy, plus I think it makes it seem like we are driving faster. Go listen to it again

Nice soundtrack, does improve the watching. Makes me want to go back for some more 20 minute sessions.

Hey Don I was out looking at some more videos from that day, and found one that the guy in the white EVO was recording, and about 7 minutes into it, you pass him, and then I do. Looks pretty good, he has an HD camera going, so crank up the pixels!

Thanks Rich, he was going pretty slow, must have been learning the line.

I wonder if he ever went any faster. Saving his tires perhaps.

Good find.
