Let me explain.

First of all this is the third time this is occuring to my car and its so strange that when im driving at night it seems as though there is a casino in my car. As soon as the car is turned on ALL of the indicator lights turn ON and OFF rapidly and repeatedly and the speedomoter and RPM needle move rapidly up and down continously.

Its really wierd to drive this car when this occurs as you can imagine its a bit distracting to have all your indicator lights flash on and off continuously. and not knowing what speed your traveling at is a bit dangerous. Heck, I dont even know how much gas is in the tank. Its as tho there is a casino in my car!!! or else its possessed.

The first time i took it to the dealer they said it was a loose wire. They fixed it and then it happened again a month later. The second time it happened they said it was the alarm system so they replaced it with a new one. And now its happening again.

Has anyone had this problem?

Sincerely,

Driving a slot machine.

Can I have $10 on Black please?

Souds like they need to check more of the wireing. Alarm and connectors might not make the WHOLE dash flicker like that. I just hope it's not some water damage like in that mustang.

I had the jumping speedo needle thing recently (but without the lights)
when I left the key in the door for an hour or so while cleaning
out the interior. I moved the key to the ignition, fired it up, shut it
down again, and all has been well since.

Jowanna: you're getting too early a headstart with the bubbly.

Cheers.

i know what it is but how do i explaine it...hummm.

well what is happening is something happens when you are turning your car on and it is tellng your system to rest. if you turn your key to the on click you can hit the rest button for your trip and get into a mode where you can read a whole bunch of stuff about your car. some of it is code some of it is numbers. i know restting the ecu does this and all your light flash and all the gauges run from one side to the other. i saw some info on mini2 about all the info that is in there (like the day your car is actually built). but i am not to sure where it is right now. maybe Ryephile could help us on this since he showed me where it was......but anyways. your car should not do this when you start the car. if your hitting buttons when you do this then maybe you at making it happen and it really doesn't hurt anything, but if not your dealer needs to find out why it is doing it when you start the car or while driving. hope that helps. pm me if you need anything else and i'll see if i can find the link for ya.

When I took my speedometer cluster apart Speedo-inside
and I plugged it back in for the first time, it did just that with
the needles moving up, and then back down past zero and Bzzz on the stop.

So, maybe your whole dash is getting power-cycled all the time.

Whew!!!!
