So I have wanted a MINI ever since they came to the states in 2002. When I was debating between a MINI and C230 Coupe I went for the Merc at the time. I love the car and have no regrets but I have decided to try a MINI this time. I love the Gen 1 styling over the Gen 2 so I wanted to try and find something along those lines.

I found a 2006 MINI Cooper S Checkmate. It has Combo #5 and Combo #1. It also has anthracite headliner, Auto Trans with Steptronic paddles, Chrome line trim, Rear fog lamp, center arm rest, sheep skin covers to match the Checkmate Blue/Silver interior, and premium sound. The seller has a pioneer radio in the car with iPod, bluetooth, and XM.

The car has 37,000 miles and he is selling it for $15,500.I gave him a deposit and will pick up the car when he returns from his trip on Dec. 27. From everything I have read it seems to be a great deal. I ran the Carfax report on the car and it cme back good to go and estimated a slightly higher than market value price.

Did you make the deal also based on having your own mechanic check it out? Let's say the mechanic says the tranny needs some work, the brakes are so-so, etc., you can still reduce the price a bit?

Any services records?

 

Yeah the seller has all the service records. The mechanic said the car was in great mechanical condition.
