Complimentary Inspection

I have a certified 07 MCS with extended warranty. I just received a complimentary inspection flier from my local Mini Dealer. I am currently at 30K and just changed my oil. Last time the Mini was at the dealer was in September because of the chain tensioner which was replaced. Anyone receive this kind of flier from your Mini Dealership? If so I am wondering what kind of free inspection will be expected? Is it even worth it to take the car in?

Newbie to Mini and since my chain tensioner had to be changed I'm leaning towards taking the car in since its a "free inspection".

Thanks in advance for any of your input!

they usually just check it out and make sure nothing is leaking or broken and check the brakes and tires to see if they need replaced. Sometimes they change the air filter too.

Little FYI, most of the time these "free inspections" are just a scam to get you into the dealer, then they'll be telling you that you need these other services like rotate and balance, fuel inject clean, p/s flush, nitrogen filled tires and such.

Also if a MINI is under warranty it is against MINI USA policy for a technician to find anything wrong with your car unless you complain about it or it's a safety concern. They call it upselling warranty, cause if they were allowed dishonest techs would claim all this stuff was wrong with your car and they fixed it just to get paid.

I did Inspection 1 and it consisted of a systems check and a car wash. The tech asked if I wanted to get my tires rotated and balanced. He said the stock weights were on it and in 30k miles they could use a re balancing. I kindly declined and went along my merry way. FWIW, I did notice all of the seat belts were plugged in, even the rears when i got it back.
