Why I love Clubbies even more: WE'RE WAVERS!!!!

(A little background: I've given out a ton of waves, the only other I've gotten was from a PS Clubman..)

Hahahahahahah I ended up missing an exit from one major highway to another around the DC area and was kinda bummed I had to go around a longer way but then I got on the second road and saw a DS Clubby (had to be an S the way he was driving it ) I kept trying to catch up but other a-holes decided to be slow or cut me off or whatever, but it was only about an hour ago so the highway was mainly clear.
I followed him for awhile but he was going pretty fast and I needed to exit and I got all sad I couldn't pass him (I had a feeling he would be a good pass-by...dunno why I felt this, but I did!). I move over and sure enough, one car in front of me, he moves over! We get off on a two lane exit, he in right lane me in left, and we came to a light. (Sorry to the guy behind me about this..) I stopped a bit short of the light/crosswalk to see if he could make it close enough. I turn around to see him pull up behind the car next to me and then all of the sudden...A GIANT WAVE! I duel-waved back and he had already rolled down the window and gave a little shout and hi. I was giggling the entire time.

So, Mr. DS Clubby on 66/Fairfax Dr tonight, THANK YOU!!! You made my night AND prove we're the best

Oh, and I found out that when you hold down the hatch button on the fob, the door pops open It's the little things in life...

Well, here's another wave for you (albeit electronic):

I've mainly experienced waving to other drivers in the Corvette community. I'd heard that MINI drivers also practice waving to one another, but have yet to have my waves reciprocated by a fellow MINI driver (whereas in the Corvette community, they are almost always reciprocated).

Thats because very few buy Vettes as throw away grocery getters like people do with MINIs. I tried some waving, and unless its modded (not just checkered dealer option mirror caps), they usually dont return it.

...So ill wave to modded cars only.

I mentioned this in the main wave thread before, but since the days of my first-gen MINI and today, there are far less waves in the SF Bay Area in my experience, due to the greater number of MINIs on the road, the amount of 'car drivers' driving MINIS vs MINI people, that sort of thing. I will say when my MINI has been visibly modded, I've seen the waves more often, and similarly, I put more effort in if I see someone's customized in some way.

Interestingly, there are a number of Clubmans here in Mill Valley where I am now and I don't think a SINGLE ONE has had a waver in it. That stumps me. It's more suburban than SF, sure, so more kids in the back and surfboards (on the way to Stinson Beach) and that sort of thing, but still. To be fair, none are modded that I can tell...

Mine has vinyl on it and some other clues!

New goal in life: wave. Wave often. Wave proud. The payoff is pure happiness, so why not!?

Heh, my carpool buddy now calls out "MINI!" every time we see one on the road, I love it. We saw a BRG II on the road yesterday, I really wanted to wave but couldn't feasibly so I told my coworker to wave..he thought I was nuts! I told him the story from above and told him "it's the little things in life!"-line and I think he has a whole new impression of me

Also told this story to a guy I'm in to, he too got a whole new view of me I'm apparently a little box of giggles!

Wave, even if they don't wave back and even if you are in a rental! I was in the Miami area this week and ended renting another brand of car (no mini's on the rental place fleet) and saw several mini's on the road (no clubmans ), I wave and they wave back So I think it is also a mental attitude: we are a friendly group of owners!
