For it to look good, find a hotrod shop...flat is harder to paint and get the same general sheen...look at some of their work..you don't want to be somebody's first attempt!!

Yeah I'd say vinyl is the better way to go and I'm not sure how much paint jobs are going for these days but i just got a quote here in GA for my entire R53 MCS and the quote was $2800.00!

Should be good for 5 plus years and you can peel it away to show the original
color. That color has been protected from UV and chips so I think it is a great deal instead of painting.

Where you looking to get it done? I know a company up near NYC... They wrapped an escalade for us for a show in the city... Was like 2k though... But they did print it for us... Was a rather elaborate print.

I would be concerned of it getting torn a little from tiny rocks and crap from the highway... wintertime and such?...

As for paint damage... Escalade peeled right off. Was insane. Took a day n a half to put on, and about 10 minutes to take off. They came out and just peeled it off. Then re-buffed the car, and looked better than before it was wrapped!

And the wrap looked mint by the way.

no, quality vinyl shouldn't chip, and on another plus side, it will protect your paint underneath so if you ever do decide to sell the car, just peel it off, and you should have beautiful, non-weathered paint underneath.

It realy depends on the paint you use, the labor rates will be the same as a regular shiney paint.

Vinyl is a good alternitive but, inside the door jambs and waht not will still be the original color.

The vinyl on the front bumper will still get chips and nicks in it.. No way around it really, unless you clear bra the vinyl which you don't want to do if going matte black.. Take a look at a Nascar car after a race..or ask anyone who has stripes down their bumper with some miles on it and not clear bra-ed

I got a quote today of $3000-3500 for matte black vinyl, so, I don't think that's in the cards for me!

A friend of mine in the Vancouver BC area runs Kar Wrap Vancouver.

He's the guy who did the carbon fiber wrap on the scoop of my car.

Also see the attached jpg. You'll have to call him for pricing as I think every job costs different dependent on what he has to do and what you want stuck to your car.

He is mobile, but works around Santa Monica and East LA a lot. He can do it at your house if you have a garage. His email is 5zero4designs@gmail.com
