Rotors? I think...

Ok, So my brand new 2011 Mini is less than a month old, and I've noticed the rotors (I think that's what they're called) are kind of an odd color (rust? burnt orange kinda color), but its only the front left side one. All the others are normal looking with little residue on them. My sister got a brand new 2011 the day after I got mine, and her front left one looks fine as well. I was hoping I could get some feedback on what this could be and why it looks this way. Attached are the images. Any input is appreciated

It is called RUST!!
Rotors are cast iron...so they rust....you brake pads keep them shiney!
Is this your first car?
Alternate answer...return to the dealer now!! Complain loudly that you brand new car is rusting, and you want a new one. When ask to show the service advisor where, show him, then just try to watch him keep a stright face!!

Sorry, I'm not mechanic savvy. I figured it was rust, but I thought it was odd that it was happening after a few weeks, and only to the front left one, and not any others, nor any of them on my sisters. This isn't my first car, but it is the first car that I can actually see the calipers and the rotors. The hubcaps covered them up on my old car.

Naww...it happens, heck, surface rust like that happens in hours...
If you drove through a puddle, and parked with thevrotor cool and wet, ot if it got pizsed on by fido...good reason one is rusty. First stop will polish it off!!
With a new car, folks can get overly nervous, just relax, and enjoy!!

Only time that would be a problem is if the rotor looked like that right after a drive. It would indicate that that caliper was not working properly. More than likely a stuck caliper piston.
