Samsung Transform M920 Bluetooth Pairing

Hello fellow mini motorists!

I am proud new owner of a 2010 mini cooper S but I am also a new owner of a Samsung Transform M920 from Sprint. I have tried for the last five hours to get my phone connected with no luck. I have connected an iphone, palm pre, and samsung epic successfully with the car. The sprint store or samsung customer service could not help me out. I did find out from samsung that this is not an often-reported issue.

As soon as the phone is paired (not connected tho!), this message shows up on my phone "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." I am forced to close the process afterwards. In my bluetooth menu of the phone, it shows "paired but not connected" with the Mini.

Any ideas on what to try next? Thank you for taking an interest in helping me out!

Make sure that the phone is NOT in discoverable mode. This will surely make it fail.

The phone has to be the one to discover the MINI and then during the pairing process:

On the phone you should see a question asking to accept the connection. Answer the question YES. if there is a check box for "always connect to this devise" or "automatically connect" make sure you check it. From then on it should connect automatically.

Schatzy, first off, thanks for your help! But I believe you posted this in an earlier thread to someone, I read it and tried this technique before I posted this topic. I tried numerous times again today with no luck.

(all this was done with discoverable mode off)The phone would not connect with the car eventhough the phone was scanning for devices and the car was in pair mode. The only way it would connect was if I actually clicked on the "mini####" on my phone under bluetooth saved devices. This would prompt me to enter the 4 number key in both the car and the phone. As soon as it would connect, 2 seconds later " the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" would come up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We have the same problem with our phones, we got them the day they came out and haven't been able to pair it to the MINI

all I can think of is waiting to see if the android update for the Transform which should arrive sometime in December will fix it

Dang. Well- the update's all the way to Froyo, so there's a reasonable chance it will make a difference.

I hope the update makes a difference, or this is gonna drive me crazy! My mini is manual, and I make most of my calls driving as I am in class/studying all day :/

The Samsung Transform SPH-M920 will now work with the MINI because they have released an update for it which includes "Improved Bluetooth device support".

Already tested and it works.

Phones started to get the update over the air yesterday and will get it till tomorrow... if you still don't have it by tomorrow you can update it manually.
you can read all the details here:
