Life expectancy of LCA bushing replacements?

My 2004 MCS has 102K. My lower control arm bushings were replaced by my independent (experienced in all things MINI) mechanic with OE bushings (came from dealer pre-installed in the carriers) at about 75K; should probably have been done 10K earlier. But now with only 25K on the new ones I'm already experiencing signs of wear. Is it possible that the method of installation used by most mechanics in these circumstances shortens their life? I'm really regretting not getting powerflex.

Depending on driving conditions we see the average life to be about 40k miles. If the OEM bushings are put in at the wrong angle they can wear faster, but if you got them in the carriers already, they were at the right angle. Next time it sounds like the powerflex will be a better option for you.

And how long are the PowerFlex bushings lasting. Twice as long? They don't seem to be wearing out?

Also, should the PowerFlex bushings be lubricated at any regular interval.

Have not had a set of Powerflex wear out yet, and I have customers that have had them in their cars for a few years.
As for lubrication, I've never had to relube a set yet.

My Powerflex control arm bushings are nearly 4 years old and have 40,000 miles on them. They are still tight and do not squeak at all.

Do the Powerflex LCA bushings tighten up the steering much? Besides lasting longer, what else do they do for our cars?
