2011 JCW -- I'm gonna do it!

After 2.5 years away from the MINI world I'm ready to jump back in...AND this time I'm going all out. Here's my 99% final spec:

2011 JCW Hardtop
Eclipse Gray
Chili Red Roof/Mirrors
Cross Spoke Black
Carbon Black Leatherette
Rooster Red Color Line
Center Arm Rest
Heated Seats
Premium Package
Automatic AC
Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof
harman/kardon
Sport Suspension
Adaptive Xenon Headlamps
Rear Fogs
MINI Connected w/NAV
Invisishield
JCW Aero Kit

I'm 99% decided on this spec. I'm still +/- on Sports Suspension. I had it on my 02 (loved it - I don't mind rough) but I'm not sure if it's needed or worth it.

Yes this is going to be one expensive MINI but I am planning on keeping my mods to a minimum this time around. The only thing that I plan on adding later on is the JCW suspension.

That will be smoking hot. Does the JCW come standard with the Anthracite headliner? If not, you might consider it. IMHO looks way better.

Anthracite headliner is standard. I would not get the sports suspension. Its not worth the $500. Take your $500 and put it towards the purchase of a good set of shocks/struts and a beefier rear sway bar.

Nice! Go with the Sports suspension if you are NOT going to upgrade.

Nice car, I'd also skip the S.S. and go aftermarket. S.S. kinda sucks for the money.

As far as the SS I expected that reaction. I probably will upgrade at some point but not really sure when that will be.

Does anyone know if SS drops the ride height at all or if it just stiffer springs/sway bars?

I think the JCW SS is supposed to lower the car approx. 1/2".

the jcw ss is really expensive but good. i ordered mine with the regular ss $500 option and am really happy about it, even with the runflats. the ss didn't feel very stiff and going over bumps and rocks were not shocking/jarring to the bone. i have not tested body roll since i'm still in my breakin period. but it doesn't lower the ride height like the jcw ss.

get the sport suspension if you don't plan to upgrade and worry about warranty issues.

AFAIK black headlights aren't available for the JCW or I would have considered it. Not sure why, but that's what I understand. They don't even show up in the configurator for the JCW.

If money is available, I love the big 316 mm Brembo Brakes. That's the only thing I would add. Maybe drop the SS?

Best of luck, sounds like quite a ride.

Throw in a JCW steering wheel while you're there.

Sorry, I just realized that those brakes come in the JCW upgrade Standard. Never mind.

I may add a JCW steering wheel at some point on down the road. Kind of undecided. I'm pretty keen on the bright red stitching that comes on the standard steering wheel for JCW cars it all ties in nicely: steering wheel, shifter, shift boot, ebrake boot all with red stitching on the JCW.

The adaptive headlights are the reason that you can't get black headlamps. It's unfortunately one or the other.

I second the JCW steering wheel. Got to see one in the showroom and wish I had it on my S. You may also want to consider the sport gauges since there is no temp readout. Just my 2 cents. I'm a track junkie and hate not having that sort of stuff in the car.

Currently the black headlight are not an option on the JCW, hopefully Mini USA will change that option soon.
