so i have lived in the houston area for all of my 22 years, and never new there was a tunnel. well i knew of the tunnel that got replaced by the fred hartman bridge(2nd largest suspension bridge in the U.S. i think) that connected laporte and baytown on hwy146. but never have heard of the washburn tunnel located on redbluff/ federal rd. crosses under the ship channel and connects pasadena to I-10. so gonna drive through it on the way to UofH today
