Summer to Winter tire swap

So I just swapped out my summer tires (Hankook EVO on ENKEI Imolas) with Conti DWS on my original 16" rims.

The summer tires will winter over in my unheated garage. Other than a good cleaning of the wheels, anything else I should do in preparation for their 6 month hibernation?

I was actually going to do this also today, but arrived home late from my flight. So it looks to be getting done tomorrow. I always let half the air out of them, mine are stored in my basment which is heated so I dont worry about them much.

Just keep the tires away from electric motors...they generate ozone which can cause the rubber to age...that and avoid direct sunlight, not a big issue, but a factor.

I also lay mine on a pair of 1x6's enough room to let air get below them

It could be better in a warmer location than an unheated garage.

Why would this be? Tires are exposed to all kinds of temperature variations all year long. What problem could possibly arise from having tires stored in an unheated / very little heated garage for 5 to 6 months?

Just askin'
