Wheels for Countryman

Real basic question and a place to post what you know.

What wheels have been announced for the Countryman?

Any aftermarket folks stepped up with any offerings?

Other than a 5 lug setup, what are the specification on the MINI Countryman wheels?

I will be looking for another set in the next 6 months.

Anyone?

FWIW, I called Tire Rack the other day and asked them. The guy told me he'd had 4 calls that morning with the same question- but he had no answer.

This is frustrating, as we will need to have a spare set of rims with studs on ready for our Jan. arrival!

You could always order a 2nd set of MINI rims, but bring gold.

It may take some time for the 3rd party wheel folks to catch up to the Countryman.

I agree on the 'gold' for the 2nd set.

I know it'll take a while for the aftermarket manufacturers to start selling rims, but if I knew the size I could find out if anyone already makes some that'll fit!

I have also talked to the Tire Rack guys within the last few days, same basic message...Have not seen the car so we have no rims, maybe by Spring. I sent back a reply today suggesting they contact the rim manufactures as I suspect they supply the UK and European aftermarket also. The R60 has been there a few months now, I would expect rims to be in the pipeline by now. I do wonder if the pattern is a BMW current spec.

It would be nice to know the offset and true pattern size of the 5 lug wheels in both 17 & 18 inch.

Perhaps our co-owners that have a Countryman in the UK could pull a wheel and measure?

Better yet..why doesn't Mini conduct a short survey of current Mini Owners and get a popular theory on wheels before they bring them out. Some of those patterns they have are just gosh awful. They could just have them as an option, even it is some current MCS patterns. If they are BMW 5 series spec then I'm going to get a nice web-type to put on the Countryman.

Many thanks to member 'Annihilation' on the Mini2 forum;

The wheels are basically BMW standard fitment, 5 x 120

The countryman 18s are 7.5 x 18 ET52.

I checked the specification of our Countryman (11 ALL4),
they are 5 x 120 and centerbore was a little unsure (71mm?)
I took the wheel out last night measured the centerbore by tape measure..
while I was drunk.. haha

all other BMW (except e39) are 5 x 120 with 72.5 mm centerbore.

so please someone with micro measuring tool, take the wheel out, and measure the hub bore please... so I can at least order some wheel spacers...
I can not stand this sunken stock wheels.... ha

I was on the NM-Engineering site earlier this week, http://www.nm-eng.com and they had some nice 19" wheels for the Countryman. They look like the JCW R112 Challenge rims only bigger

If you are in the US and want to sell your stock wheels, I am interested.

Just looked while browsing for tire options and TIRERACK.com now has the Countryman listed Shoot...looks like they are just listing tires right now, no wheels yet.

Wheels and caps

I was planning on putting some asa wheels from a prior 325i and hoping they would just fit. I had been saving these wheels for 3 years just for this purpose!!!!!!

Will I need a spacer - as the center bore on mini is smaller will it matter ?

Also anyone know where I can get mini center caps need to replace the roundals

Update:

Tire rack can help, but if more people call asking for Countryman rims, things will happen faster!

Call Tirerack at 1-888-541-1777 now!

I have these picked out for my non-winter wheels.
Just need to confirm proper sizing now that we have better info to deal with.
DPE Signature S-10.

Yes.
I think that is as small as they go.
They make some very nice wheels. Was hard to choose.

I wonder if BBS CH's will fit? They would look awesome on a dropped countryman.

Just installed new rims on the ALL4 a couple of hours ago, we are happy with the look. Tire Rack, Motegi MR118, 17 x 8, we used the OEM Continental All Season tires. These are a full 1" wider, no clearance issues noted.
I had installed Mud Guards back in December, very glad now as the wider rims would be exposed at the bottom of all 4 arches and throw stuff on the body.
I plan on installing Blizzaks on the original silver rims this fall.
Hated having to install new TPMS devices but necessary.
I also applied 20% window tint to the rear 4 windows, almost done playing, well for a bit.
I have a couple more pix in my gallery.

Looks FANTASTIC! Completely transforms your CM. Love the black look. Those wheels may be a great alternative for snow wheels for me I also have the mudflaps installed.

Looks really good, although the side mounted number plate doesn't suit a MINI.

What actual tire size did you use?

The OEM tires are 205/55 17, the installer said they went on just fine. Had a trip yesterday and no issues. I believe this size is the recommended size per Tire Rack.
