Mini S quarter mile times.

Hey, I know that the MINI is not for the quarter mile, but I was wondering how it stacks up to some other cars. I recently purchased an 03 Honda S2000 and that forum site seems to think that their roadsters are the bell of the ball.

I am in the process of getting registration, tags, insurance and all of the other BS and haven't had the opportunity to really see what this new ride can do. However, what little I have played around with this new car, when I push the S2000, I know I'm doing 60. In the Cooper, I haven't a clue as to how fast I am going.

Again, I know the proof is in the twisties and not on the drag strip, but I was curious as to how our Cooper S's stack up against an S2000 in the quarter mile and then how about on the twisties? For all of the hype, I'm feeling that the Cooper S might just as fast and maybe a lot smoother, not to mention more leg room. ................ Maybe an S vert, if I could afford one?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what my car ran according to my Accessport. I have an exhaust and tune so my car is a little faster than stock. Doesnt the S2000 run in the low 14's?

An S2000 stock vs MCS stock... S2000 hands down, especially from a stop, they will crush you on the launch... Rwd vs fwd. A 13.8 should easily beat a stock S2000 though, but good luck finding any that are still stock

Well, my S2k is far from stock with a CAI, exhaust but so is my Mini. I haven't upgraded the Mini exhaust. Off the line, I lose a lot of traction in my Mini and I believe it wastes a lot of time not going anywhere burning rubber.

Hopefully I will get the registration cleared up by next week and have a chance to take it way out back and run her. I should be able to tell better then.

I actually was more drawn to the vert as the weather here in South Texas right now is wonderful for top down driving. Way back when I had Miata, that vehicle never saw the roof up! I drove it year round with the top down, even in 100+ temps.

Any thoughts on handling comparisons between these two on the twisties?

PS: Any comments on my roommate, Mr. Riley Wilson? What a buddy! I fell in love with him a little over a year ago and we are inseparable. He's right here on my lap as I type on my laptop.
