Lets face it, the stock and Harmon Kardon stereos flat our suck bad. Upgrading to the HK system is similar to taking a 1,500.00 chunk of $100's and tossing it in the trash. You may get a LITTLE bit more definition in the mids (usually from 3"-6" speakers) and highs (tweeters, etc) but still the bass bites it big time (slang for being crappy) and for what you pay you should at least get a 8" sub or a set of 6x9's that are in a sealed enclosure...but you don't. While they market it pretty heavily and have a nice "Harmon Kardon" badge. etc, don't believe the hype. While this sub box will not improve on the mids and highs, it will compliment it and offset the weak links in the system.

Basically this is as turn key as it gets when it comes to adding bass emphasis into the MINI Cooper stereo system. Sure, you can get a Bazooka tube or a nasty looking 'sub-in-a-box' from your local Best Buy or whatever but there is a slim chance it will even come close to quality of the bass from this custom bass enclosure. This unit was developed and refined by what I consider to be one of the most knowledgeable people in the MINI audio world and after talking with the owner at length I decided we had to offer this to our customers.

While it will require some work to install it, the benefits are well worth it. One of the first things I did with my personal R56 MINI was to replace all of the speakers and add a similar custom bass box with amp. While I am proud of what I made on a sunny Saturday afternoon it is actually not near as nice as this kit. This kit looks and sounds stunning and is very discrete so it will not draw attention of scoundrels and other thug-losers. By making a 'false floor' they were able to hide a very nice 10" sub as well as a dedicated amp to power it, which in turn keeps a majority of already small trunk space usable.

The Model 1100S is a complete system including the enclosure, subwoofer, amplifier, and ALL necessary wiring and hardware!
