Just wanted to pass along my review of this little device that I have found to be just what I was looking for, well mostly.

Kensington 2-in-1 Charger and Audio Cable


This little device allows me to use the high quality audio output of the iPHONE while still letting me to charge the device. The plug goes into the back of the iPHONE then runs to a mini-lighter plug. The plug has a audio out miniplug that I plug into the AUX input of the MINI's radio.

I use my iPHONE as a GPS, via TOMTOM, on a daily basis. I wanted some way to use it in a way that would allow me to see it when I was driving but also allow me to use the higher quality output to listen to music.

So I went to Cravenspeed and got the flexpod with scissor attachment to hold my phone right up next to the tach in a vertical or landscape position. I use the Kensington adapter and it works like a charm.

Since the USB slot is open I stuck in a little flash drive with 8GB of music. So I can use my iPHONE as a GPS, and listen to music on it while keeping it charged or I an listen to the music I have on my flash drive. All is good with the world when I'm driving my MINI.

I am so irritated that Apple threatened to sue Monoprice. Same cable from them was about 1.99.

I REFUSE to pay 30 bucks for a cable. What do they do? Grind up unicorn horns?

Decent shot of the craven mount though. While it seems to be the best option to mount an iphone4 so far it still looks a little kludgy.
