Heated Mirror operation

2010 Justa: Apparently the heated mirrors don't always automatically turn on with the rear window "heat" switch. The owners manual is vague about it, but seems to imply that they turn on "when needed".

Is it possible to reprogram to get the mirrors to always heat along with the rear window?

If not, is the temp that they turn on adjustable? If so, how?

(My mirrors are always misted early in the morning along with the rear window.)

Thanks,

Not totaly sure about 2010 but earlier years the heated mirrors were not attached to the rear window defogger. There is a set temp in the computer and they come on as needed.

Possibly at 37deg? The same as the "icey road" warning???

The front headlight washers are heated at a pre-determined temperature. I can't remember the temp, but I think it was warmer than the 37 degrees at which the snowflake gong appears.

Nobody has any ideas about reprogramming to a higher temp, linking to the rear window switch or adding a separate switch?

(Wiping the mist off the mirrors before backing up does not work very well unless the mirrors are starting to heat up. Cold, they just remist almost instantly.)

Thanks,
