Hi guys,

I finally want to upgrade my headunit so I bought pioneer mvh-p8200 and steer wheel control. I would like to try this by myself first if it's easy as plug and play.

Have any of you guys done this? My mini is 03 w/out HK sound system.
Hows wiring? should I cut any? or should I just go to auto shop.

I would get an adapter harness, if at all possible. However, MINI changed the radio types during the model year so you have to check to see if the plug into your radio is the older "round pin" type or the newer "flat pin" type.

Metra 70-9003 is for the flat pin type.

 

Thank you for your help, I was totally forgot about dash kit and wiring harness! I just ordered both of them from crutchfield and they only had newer "flat pin" type so I got that one. I hope it fits..
