Mini Cooper Trouble light

I have a 2007 MCS and i'm trying to figure out what this trouble light means.

While driving I get the Brake Light(red) and ACS Light (Yellow Triangle) and on the small display it shows the brakes warning sign. When it comes on it usually only stays on for about 30 seconds, then it goes away. I've checked the wear pad sensors since I just changed the brakes 2000 miles ago. Those look good to go.

I'm lost at what else it could be, unless it is an ABS sensor going bad, but I assumed that I would get an ABS light rather than a brake light if that were the case.

Not sure could be a short or a bad connection. Did you reset the lights after changing the sensors?

Yes, everything was fine until about 3 weeks ago. Now every time I drive it does this. I had no troubles for about 2 months after changing the brakes.

Check your OM for indicator and warning lamp definitions (around page 121). When seen in pairs or triples, they may mean something else. For example, ABS (brakes) + DSC = Vehicle electronics failure and require an immediate dealer (shop) visit.

Had the same problem 2 months ago....something was wrong with the ABS sensor in my case.

Not sure if you have a MT, but when I had this error the hill assist stopped working as well.

I have the feeling I have the same problem. I have a MT, but never noticed the hill assist anyway. Actually nothing at all seems to take place while this error is on, but it happens pretty often. How did you determine which sensor? Or did you just take it to the dealer?

Oh and BTW the owners manual does not have this particular code in it. I looked for it there already.

Took it to the dealer and they diagnosed/fixed it. The SA says it was a common problem......

I got a similar display a couple or three times this past summer, and FWIW, they both occurred on very hot days. I haven't seen it before or since.

Ciao,
