Anyone ever stole your vanity plate idea?
Anyone ever stole your vanity plate idea?
Here's my plate...had it for over a year now.

A friend of mine just sent me this MMS...

this is actually the second time someone has ripped off my vanity plate with some kind of munged spelling (the first one was JERK STOR)

Has anyone had an uncreative ********* steal their vanity plate idea?

I wouldn't neccessarily think that they stole your idea...they may have come up with the same words and were disappointed that it was not available and so they had to come up with something that is phonetically the same....
I had the license plate PADRE in Indiana for 13 years....when we moved to Virginia in 2000 I could not get PADRE because someone else in Virginia had that so I got PADRE4U.....I kept checking every couple of months to see if PADRE ever became available...lo and behold one night it was (after 4 years)...I snagged it back there and then and now have had PADRE for another 6 years......with all the cars on the road the chances are that he/she has never seen your plate (even though you're both in Virginia)....you know what they say...."imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"......."great minds think alike"....etc, etc etc....

All the time.
Everytime I come up with a plate that I want, it's "not available".
I'm not sure if it's because it's taken, or if it's because the state of Kalifornia has decided it's "indecent"...I was trying a lot of legal codes and stuff though.
Here if you request something you have to explain why you want it; for example I wanted 266H or PC 266 H (the penal code section for pimping) but it was "unavailable".
Then I tried BG266HN (Big Pimpin') which (surprisingly) was available...the problem is there's no way I can come up with a legitimate explanation as to why I would want that.
Oh, and according to DMV the number 69 is reserved for 1969 model year vehicles only. :p
