What tires would you recommend for the stock 15in rims?

There do not seem to be many choices in the stock 175/65/15 size. I have talked to a few of the tire places in town and they recommend going with a 185/60/15.

We enjoy spirited driving, but we also need a tire that will last a good while. We average driving 30-35k a year.

 

If you want a sticky summer tire - Dunlop Sport SP01 (this is what I've got on mine now)

If you want all-season with long treadware (not sticky and not sporty) - Avid Envigor

You can go with 195/60/15 on stock 15x5.5 rims.

I'm partial to Nokians, best tires in that size for spring/summer/fall/all temp/rain/no snow&ice.

They aren't too balloony on the MC hollies. I can post pictures if you like.


Mine are spent at about 11,000 miles, but a dozen or more flat-out runs of The Dragon and driving the surrounding area didn't help that figure much. I don't get on twisties that often.

My previous set lasted about 16,000 miles. I had autocrossed on them twice. These mileage figures are typical of all tires I've had on my car. I tend to drive hard, yet smooth, no tire squealing.

If you generally putter around, you should easily get 30-35k out of them.
