The dopiest, most fun, least known change for 2011:

Here's the dopiest, least known most fun change fo '11
I own a BRG2 Clubman...... And.........and..... not only are there more color choices for ambient lighting, are you ready? If you hold the toggle switch for 10 seconds, it will flicker one time. And then......voilà .........a steady ever changing rainbow of colors, changing ever 2 seconds in all areas of the ambient lighting - Door handles, armrests, spots, opera lights on pillars, etc. occurs. BTW, this occurs during the day as well. Not limited to "headlight on" mode. Makes me laugh. Not sure how I've lived without this new feature. It's in the 2011 manual. That's how I came across it. How did I live without this feature before?????

This version of your post doesn't have the legs of the other one. Personally, this is the first thing I'm going to do when my wife gets in the car. Oh, the look shell give. It'll be the couch, I suspect, for me...

Yep. Ownership of MINIs seems split between college-age girls and the rest of us.

Humor?

Did you lose your humor, your playfulness, while you were putting all that "manly" stuff on your car? Lighten up!

Hee! If you knew me in real life you'd know how absurd the "manly" and "lose your humor, your playfulness" statements are!

It's just a message board and as such it all often depends on how you personally choose to interpret what someone writes, dear sir! My post was not directed at you personally -- it was continuing on the joke (thus the emoticon); sorry it was misinterpreted.

Retrofit?

I tried it on our 2008, no go.
My son asked if we could add it on as an option.

Sure. Probably just need to replace and reprogram the lamp control module. Maybe in and out of the dealer for $600 dollars.

I told him I'd pay him a dollar to reach up and cycle the toggle switch back and forth while I drive.

You know: if MINI could apply this technology to the exterior paint, they'd really have something there...! We could get a bunch of MINI's all running down the highway together that would look like a herd of chameleons...!
