Just bought 2006 MINI S Convertible

It has 22,500 miles on it and is so much fun to drive. I bought it from a dealer and the owners manual is missing. I've looked all over but can't seem to find a legit owners manual on the web for under $100.00. Anybody know if there is a downloadable version?

My MINI, also know as Juan Coupo, has an HK stereo system. I have owned a BMW 540i which had a similar radio, but can't seem to figure this one out. The Mode button either doesn't work or doesn't serve a purpose. The only way i can make a CD play is by ejecting it and putting it back in. And, when I plug my Ipod into the AUX port in my glove box, nothing happens. I don't want to put an after market radio in because I love the look how it is. Anybody have any thoughts about what could be wrong? Can I replace this radio, if needed, with another MINI radio?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Seen about 17 of them on eBay, thats with the red stitched black case and all accompanying manuals. And all of them were from $21-$60, I avoided counting the ones over $60. By the way, 2005 and 2006 are the same owners manual. Go to eBay and type in "MINI Cooper owners manual 2006" then try 2005 as well.

EBay is what I did to get a manual for about $35. I got all the little booklets, toggle switch relabeling kit (with a couple missing ) and carrying case too. The dealership will see you one for about $55 but you only get the manual.

You can also register in MINIUSA's owner lounge and then have access to an online manual. You might be able to find out other things about your car by entering the VIN # too. There is some feature but for my car it was unavailable so I dont know what is really there.

It sounds like there is a problem with the HK. I have a 2005 Cabrio with HK and mode rotates through radio, CD, AUX. Actually, now that I think about it, I am not sure I had the AUX option before I put the AUX line in. Are you sure the AUX line is connected into the back of the radio. I only ask because when we moved into our home, we tried to connect a TV to the cable jack and got nothing. After a couple of hours of trying to diagnose where the problem was in the line, I took the wall plate off to discover that the cable wasnt actually connected to the wall plate. The line was already run, it was just sitting there, unconnected behind the plate. That was when I learned to try to remember to check the simpliest things first!

Found the manual on ebay...thanks howsoonisnow1985. smurfette26...not sure if the cable is connected or not. Do you have to take anything apart to tell or should something be visible for me to know if it's connected?

Well, I have the AUX input, not the official ipod cable so I am not sure if there is a difference...but mine plugs into the back of the headunit (radio). You cannot see it. I guess I would try to find where the cable came out of the glovebove and *follow* it with my hand to feel if it were plugged in. In all likelihood it not being plugged in is not the problem, I have just been taught to try the simple fixes first! Good luck!
