Anyone use a Mini for their business?
Anyone use a Mini for their business?
I own a small business that has been an OTS for a while now but am getting pressed hard enough that I am starting to make moves to go full time. In this industry most folks use the all too common 'plain white cargo van with crappy lettering on the side' as their mobile office/equipment hauler, frankly I want to stand out.
So I'm thinking of getting a Clubman S, laying on some lettering/logo, along with a matching low-wall cargo trailer to pull behind it as I can't help but see how it would stick out like a sore thumb. I worked up some Photoshop images to get feedback from friends and they all seem to quickly smile and say go for it. I would likely run this set up for ~2 years until the Nissan NV has been on the street for a year and prices come down, the Mini would then be used solely for advertising and daily-driver status.
Okay so I'm done yapping
Is anyone out there using their Mini for business and/or advertising? How's the feedback?
Has anyone seen a Mini being used for business?

Red Bull does

As a consumer, I think it's a good idea. MINIs are attention grabbing cars, fuel-sensative, yet still fun/practical. All of those are wise things for a business. I pay attention to decorated/advertising fun cars, not a freaking white van.
As a future Clubby owner, watch what you say about them being "sore thumbs"
It sticks out like a rose in a thornbush. Its length will give you a bit more room, and the fold out doors could allow a wrap-around that when you're parked (and you're still nearby!) the entire logo can be seen. Also, you can wrap your pillars. And! You could probably throw something on that long(er) roof so the big mean SUVs can see it
Lots of room for customization on a Clubby

There's a print company not far from where I live that has two identical coopers that are wrapped in yellow with a bunch of eye-catching graphics. They have been using these cars for at least five years, and I see them all the time making deliveries. Wrapped MINIs are hard not to notice!
Wow kinda surprised more folks are using/seeing them, but then again that's one of the reasons I'm going this route because they are not commonly used for marketing (at least around me). I have seen the RedBull Mini's in other states and the big can is hard to miss but I will likely not be going that wild. The plan is to use heavy contrasting colors & lettering not far from 'normal' Mini colors.
Since Mini does not offer a true white I am considering a black over pepper with black rims, then the pepper areas will be wrapped in a pure white, while the windows will be limo-tint. Over this will be placed large black/white letting (likely reflective) for heavy contrast, may also go with the factory black/white rooftop checkerboard to make it pop. My companies logo features a large green leaf so this would be the color pop for the car.
I just wish Mini offered a pure white
The wrap/lettering will run me around $2k (still working out details) but a repaint would run $4-6k for decent work. Oh well, gotta spend before ya earn....

Welcome DFens!
On this very forum there is a beautiful MINI in ice cream business. Do a search you would be surprised. In my area I see a REMAX MINI very often. Completely wrapped in real estate poster hard to miss... Good luck to you.

I am the second owner, the first owner must have used it for his insurance company. I have no idea what it looked like while it was wrapped. I do also see some of the UV fading from it.

Bland Landscaping in Raleigh has several Clubmans with company graphics that they use. They used to have a page on their web site explaining why they use MINIs (they had coupes before they got the Clubmans), but looks like they may have taken it down.
I've seen some payroll processing company with a MINI wrapped in some graphics.

I'm going to be doing a full wrap below the belt-line so no worries about fading, in fact the wrap will actually help protect the paint underneath from fading as well as minor chips/dings. I will be doing a checkered roof just not sure if it will be factory or from the folks wrapping it, likely the latter as the roof of the trailer will be checkered too so matching will be easier.

BTW.... why would anyone want bland landscaping?
The wrap I'll be doing is fairly basic (unlike many of the wild ones that are hard to read or even tell what product/service they are promoting) using high contrast, splash of color, easy to read, gets the point across in seconds.....

I tried a number of designs and folks liked this one the best hands down, dropped it off at my printer/graphics designer to clean up and convert to Vector and even she said it looked outstanding (shes been in the biz for 20+ years). ETA, the wrap will be pure white (not the MINI Pepper), black rims, checker roof (had to simulate using MS Paint best I could)
What say you folks.....?

This one. The thread Conversion to ice cream truck.
I think your idea and signature are excellent. Brief, on the point, good looking. Stick a pouch with business cards on both sides of the car.
I definitely like it. The message style seems to say "we're responsible", which agrees with your eco cleaning service.
What's with the wheels? They look like they're sprinkled with chrome

Well years ago I used my MINI for doing some mobile detailing...

Sometimes I left the trailer behind and just packed it up.

Today I have a Clubman S instead and don't do mobile work, but I still use it to promote my business

Naw it's just Midnight Black Metallic.
Photoshop, just wanted to see what it might look like with black rims, I'm going for strong contrasts to try and make it stand out.
In the past I've done business with a San Antonio company called Newtek. They make broadcast tv production equipment. I just received a newsletter from them announcing their "road trip" where they will pile a bunch of TV gear in a Clubman and take it across the states for demonstrations just to prove how their technology replaces a bunch of traditional gear. This is a pretty nifty idea, especially considering most TV folks have to use small vans to haul their equipment. Here's their launch page: http://stream.newtek.com/

That's rad (when's the last time you heard that word?). I like the black wheels with this color combo.
