Brake Pad & Rotor Choices

It's time for me to change my brakes & I've been looking at a few vendor's Pad & Rotor packages. I'm going to do the work myself which I'm quite excited about. But most of the vendor sites have woefully low amounts of info about the products they are carrying. As a result I've got 3 questions for all you break experts out there.

First: What pads DON'T Support the brake wear sensors?

Second: Has anyone had a cross drilled rotor crack from street/weekend back road driving?

Third: Are there any extra bits I'll be needing for the job? (grommets, bolts, etc…)

Thanks!

Powerslot rotors and the pads of your choice. I have been very happy with EBC Greenstuff front pads and Raybestos OEM replacement pads with stock rotors in the back. If the brake fluid hasn't been changed in more then 2 years, you should probably do that too. SS brake lines and brass brake guide bushings are a nice addition too. http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=421

I've been looking at DT's "Stage 1.5" kit. http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=420

And OutMotoring's "Stage 2" kit http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...brake_kit.html

I'm not sold on the brass bushings, it seems like that's not really a long term street product. I'm curious how the brass & cast metal of the caliper hold up to winter salt roads. And the drilled rotors in the OutMotoring kit make me hesitate. So, I'm trying to figure it all out, but I gotta do it quickly.

We've got a little one on the way this is the last big upgrade to the car I'm gonna be able to do for a long while. My wife is a automotive wet blanket, she just does not get why I enjoy tinkering & as a result doesn't really support it all that much. Once the baby is here, forget it, I'll be lucky if I can do any work on it at all. She's one of those people who drives her car until it breaks horribly, then fixes it. Preventative maintenance, is an alien concept to her. So I gotta squeeze in all the fun I can right now.

Both of those packages are a great deal. One suggestion....I was not happy with the HPS pads at all. Found them to not hold up to aggressive driving in the mountains, See if they can offer an upgraded/different pad.

My first choice would be the DT package as it includes the caliper bushings. These REALLY improved the feel and also will help eliminate the uneven wear some can get with the pads.

Not a fan of the drilled rotors, as they only really add some bling to the rotor. Slots actually can help with severe braking.

I have been running the solid bushings for 4 yrs with no adverse effects. I just lube them up when I change winter/summer tires. Takes an additional 5 mins per wheel.

I was snooping around on OutMotoring again & found another tempting kit.

It looks to be a great deal. If I end up hating the pads I can always save up change to try a set of Ferodos.
