High octane fuel in Denver area?

I'm having a tough time with the gas in Brighton and I am looking for some high octane fuel to keep on hand to blend in with what I can get here. Not looking to run tanks full of 100 octane or anything just keep a few 5 gallon containers in the shop. I was at the Amoco at 32nd and Wads tonight and they indeed have 100 and 110 octane race fuel but the kid inside had no idea what brand, leaded or unleaded etc. The pump has a VP VP100 graphic on it but it is over a much older Sunoco 100 label.

Anyone been through this station lately? The heat has my car running a little funny, feels like a little ping around 3000 rpm at WOT. Without going through a lot of diagnosis and spending money at a shop to figure it out I'd like to mix a few gallons of 100 octane in to get it up to a legit 93-94 and see what happens. I've heard of a few stations that have 93 at the pump too, not sure if any actually exist.

Would love to find some 93 as well...all of the lists that I find online are outdated and the stations are gone.

Post away...

The Berthod no name gas station right off of 287 has 93, and several of us use it. To get real good 100+, I would say head out to HPR.

Good know about the Berthod station, thanks.

I've found VP and Sunoco 100 in the metro area but it is pretty costly, as much as $14\gal and as "little" as $8\gal. Not a huge expense since I only need a few gallons to test my hot weather ping theory my car may be having. However the $6 fuel at 32nd and Wads is affordable enough to be a regular thing as an additive if I can figure out what it is. I am down at Crown Hill, right across the street, weekly and had no idea it was there until yesterday.

Out of curiosity any other R53 owners here have issues with heat? My car is like a different car when it gets hot out. Right around 80F seems to be when I can feel, and sometimes hear the difference. No big suprise there, heat has always been the enemy to performance and I can deal with that but I fear detonation, even with a knock sensor.

Edit: If anyone is interested the 32&Wads pump is indeed street legal VP100 unleaded race fuel. Talked to the tech there, well I sent someone to talk to him and he brought back a pamphlet.
