1st Gen iPod issue

Who has a factory iPod adapter in their 1st gen? Mine worked when I first got BLU-BY-U last year, but now when I plug my iPod Nano in it pauses the iPod immediately and says ok to disconnect. I have tried several things but can not un-pause it. Does anyone have any ideas? This is on a Boost radio (non-MP3 model) Harman Kardon.

Likely you've considered this already, but I wonder if your (white) iPod connector/cable is frayed, and is creating an intermittent connection?

The other thought is restoring your iPod nano. Again, obvious, but who knows.

I've got the same setup, H/K and factory iPod connection kit, but have not had any issues with it so far excepting the expected compatibility issues with newer iPods and iPhones.

Thanks for the info. I have taken the whole thing apart several times, and nothing looks wrong with any of the cables. It does still charge the iPod. Also when I try any other iPod it does it to those too, so i know it is in the kit somewhere. The last time I took it apart, instead of stuffing it back in under the stereo I put it all under the compartment under the steering wheel, so I have easy access to it. Maybe I will swing by MINI of Loveland and see if they have a kit, where I can test cable and the box itself.

Good idea. Definitely ask for part number 65 11 2 154 178, that's the updated cable for current generation iDevices. It's black in color.

Interesting.

I've got a 2006 R50: http://gallery.me.com/matthewwanderer/100061

Like I mentioned, I've got the factory iPod integration kit and it has a white cable.

Weird. I do know that mine does not charge the newer iPods(iPhone 3gs, or iPod Nano 5th gen), but it did work with a Ipod Touch, just didn't charge it. I will have to look to see if there is a model number on the cable itself still.

So looking at my cable that goes from the converter box to the iPod itself has the number 65 11 0 035 957

Stopped by the Boulder BMW shop at lunch and it is not the cable. I used theirs as a test real quick, and it still makes the iPod go to Pause as soon as you plug it in. Maybe I need to redo the wires at the headunit, anyone have any other ideas?

Ug, was hoping it was just the cable: such an easy fix.

The Torin Aluminum Jack Stands:

Cheaper here:

Hope you find a fix for the iPod issue soon! Wave if you see me around Longmont, I'll do the same.

Still trying to get this working. While looking at more in the boot, I noticed that the Sirius receiver in the left side cubbie hole is way warm, and the MINI has been sitting in the garage for several days. So I disconnected it and removed it. I never did subscribe to it when I bought the 2004 a year ago, so no loss there. BTW that did nothing, but it might have fixed my electrical leak I have been trying to track down
