newbie with needing interior advice

hi,
first post so take it easy if i have done it wrong etc.

I have an 02 brg mini cooper with white top, mirros and bonnet stripes
My problem lies with my interior and general wear on the downtubes and hand grips on door card. I want to paint these and would like some colour suggestions. My interior is kind of blue/black with grey on dash etc. Any ideas would be welocome

thanks in advance

My interior is a blue grey, with the JCW carbon fiber dash. My downtubes were showing a lot of wear, I was going to paint them black, then I figure I would try a blue just to see if I liked it. I was happy with the look (however my son hates it) and then I did some of the trim rings. If you do paint them, clean them well first, and use Very light coats. I did mine over a 12 hour period, no runs and so far it has held up very well this summer.
If you want to look pictures are in my gallery.
Good luck

thank you for the response.
I am happy enough to do the painting, and i agree numerous light coats is the best way to achieve a good finish. I dont think blue would be suitable, as my mini is dark green with a white top, so blue would perhaps look odd.
i think black might to too strong so thinkin dark grey would be the best choice

How about leather?

Last December I purchaced an '02 MCS with the same issue, paint worn off the down tube and door pulls. I figured if I painted them I would have the same problem again down the road so I went with leather to match my leather interior. I bought leather door pull covers from MossMini, and then I covered the down tubes with matching material.
This is the Link for door pulls:

This is what my down tube look like:

thanks for all the replies.

I like the idea of leather and the fact it will cut out the long term issue. However, since i am having to paint door grips as well i would like to try and match it up so one area doesnt stand out, if that makes sense?
I was also temted to paint the dash but i think this may be a step to far outside my comfort zones in terms of high quality finish.

Kieran1988, If you follow the Moss Mini link I posted in my last reply it will take you to a link for their leather door grip covers. I bought these to match the leather uprights I made so everything matches. The picture they display for these grips at Moss Mini is exactly what they look like installed, really nice.
