MINIs by the Jersey Shore/Ocean & Monmouth County

Hey there everyone. My husband, myself and my parents are all MINI owners and live at the Jersey Shore in Toms River. I have seen here in the MONJ thread things from North and South Jersey but nothing from around here. Anyone out there near us?

Hi and Welcome!

We're in Aberdeen and my mother-in-law lives in TR. We are always looking for things to do with other MINI owners who are local.

Cheers
Mr. Jim

Awesome! Have you seen the posts for the MINI Statue of Liberty run next weekend? It's being hosted by a group in MD but they are making stops in NJ to gather more MINIs. We're all going to go!

Yes we are going to that as well. We are meeting the group at 10:30 GC rest stop between exit 11 and 12 on TKP.

Also you may want to check out this forum as well -> motoring alliance

See you next week!

Cheers
Mr. Jim

You do know where the Jackson Outlet Mall is? On the 27th of this month there is a car show there. And as in the past 3 years there will be a gaggle of MINIs in attendance.

Here is the link to the thread here on NAM. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...son-nj-14.html

Hope to see you there

How about a Snookie run? That is we all get a line of minis down Ocean Avenue in Seaside or whatever its called and yell out "HEY SNOOKIE" when we pass the Jersey Shore TV show house. That would be awesome!

I have no use for "Jersey Shore" and wouldn't waste the gas.

Hey Jim, I lived in Aberdeen most of my life and am in Keyport now. Good to see someone local!

Great to see there are other semi-local owners. I live in Keyport and work in Eatontown. It's a shame that there is no longer an official MINI group for New Jersey, and the other groups are just too far for me to be able to participate in any events. We should try to set up some local events for us and maybe an official group can develop.

MCJoe - Agreed - even an "unofficial" group would still be good.

R58, even an unofficial group would be great. Everything has to start somewhere, I'm sure some of the "official" groups started as something more informal at the beginning. I'm not even sure what it takes to be an "official" group anyway, aside from a name and a logo, and someone to coordinate things.

What's official?

There are plenty of NJ MINIs on NEMINI.org... Why reinvent the wheel?

Well, most of their events are just not close enough for me.

Anyone can post an event on NEMINI, it's not like some of the other regional clubs. You are welcome to setup a NJ event and post it there.

There are plenty of NJ MINI owners there, just hasn't been anyone lately willing to setup an event. The CT guys seem to run more events lately, but that doesn't make NEMINI a CT club. I can tell you for a fact there are NJ MINIs showing up at those CT/NY/PA events tho.

Sometimes it's good to branch out a little. Considering going to the Jim Thorpe run in June - yes, it's a 2 hr drive to get there, but there just aren't ANY roads like that in NJ! It's worth the trip...

I'm in Bayville. I'm always open for a group ride. I bought my roadster in April and have done 2 rallies and Mini of Monmouth drive in so far. John
