day of driving

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and enjoy taking off on nice days for an enjoyable drive on some nice curvy roads in SE Ohio.I dont drive like I am trying to kill myself or someone else but do a little bit of slightly aggresive driving and some relaxing and fun driving.Im not sure if I am putting this in the right place of the site or not, but I thought it might be interesting to get some people together and drive in a group( never done this in a car but do it alot on motorcycles) Anyway I didnt know if some people might be interested in this or not.

Look to the bottom and find the regional forums and see what might be going on in your area. We have two groups here in Houston that complement each other and both have real "driving" events where we all get out on the road and do something together. They are spirited, but not maniacal, I've only heard of one ticket being received by anyone on a drive, and that was someone who got separated from the group and tried to speed their way back up.

I just drove on U.S. 35 last week in SW ohio. It's not curvy, but it's much better than the scenery around home here in SE VA. I took a quick peak on Google Maps. Any of those highways going through the Wayne National Forest should be good drives.

Welcome sponge! I don't care what part of Ohio you're from, keep your calendar clear for this annual event: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...un-2010-a.html. I drove down from NY last spring and had a blast. I think it's just the kind of thing you're looking for (but I'm sure you can find something to and someones to do it with before then).

Welcome to NAM!

tedswoods, that's a good writeup. I'll remember that if I ever get time to actually hit the backroads instead of just driving through to another destination.

The next time you come to Ohio for a drive you should try out ST.RT. 550 , 555 , 93 , these are a few of my favorites. If you want to make a day of it maybe my wife and I can meet up with you for a nice drive.

Thanks for the invite, sponge. When I was driving back on Sunday, I did pass a yellow MINI and an '06 JCW GP along U.S. 35 in lower Ohio south of Jeffersonville. And, yes, I made sure to wave.

It is mostly just breakfast with friends getting together to kick tires & talk MINIs. A few of us usually manage to go for a drive to lunch.
