Yes, Corbeau A4 seats do fit in a classic Mini

Hey all --

I have been looking for quite some time for some comfortable reclining seats that (1) fit in a classic Mini, and (2) provide support for a 5 point harness. I was surprised to find that Corbeau is now selling all of their reclining seats with submarine belt slots in the seat base. I did a bunch of measuring and decided to buy a pair.

Installation was a breeze (I had previously purchased Corbeau Clubmans so I already had Corbeau Mini seat sliders).

Photo album of the seats installed is here: http://tsunami.desertwave.com/galler...2_itemId=12559

The seats are all priced fixed at $640 / pair. I added the submarine slot for an additional $50 / seat, so total they were around $700. I can't recall what the sliders were ... you can find them on 7ent.com if you want to know the price.

Well, yes and no. The universal sliders do provide a way to mount seats to the classic, but my research determined that all mainstream seats use different mounting bolt patterns. For instance, Corbeau and Cobra seats do not have the same mounting bolt pattern.

That being said, with minimal fabrication skills you can retrofit seats with one bolt pattern to sliders with another.

Well I don't know as I have Cobra Classics in my 79 and those are the only aftermarket I've experience with.

But with regard to the two you mention the & part description for the slider mount from Seven:

Description: Pair of tilting adjustable mounting brackets to install Corbeau or Cobra seats in Classic Mini

But in any case I'll agree sidways with you ... with minimal fabrication you could adjust almost any set of sliders to the Mini mount cuz it is primative. A little flat stock, a couple of holes and a spot weld or two .... done

And there is also a difference 'tween universal slider - and universal slider for a Mini. A universal slider does not include the Mini end....only a reception area for the right brackets.
