Rear Speaker fubar on HK

One month old and the rear channel(or 1 speaker) is vibrating and breaking up like it's a 10 year old speaker. Are the HK speakers junk. Should I upgrade now? Is there a plug and play to fit in with no modifying. Thanks

I think this should be posted on Stock Problems/Issues

Warranty. You shouldn't be having that problem.

Thanks. It's such a hassle going back I'd just as soon replace it myself...but I'll call them and see if I can bring it in a wait.

Gotcha...I'll call sometime Mon PM. I have not used service yet. We'll see how good(or bad)they are. I would not mind buying after market if they fit right in....that would be too easy.

If I had to stab at it, it sounds like your amp died. Also, if this is like the first gen, I doubt you can just swap stuff out with this system.

You need to take it in. You paid 750 bucks for the H/K system. Make them fix it properly. I like mine, sounds great.

Go with the warranty repair. The HK speakers are designed specifically for the HK amp and have some nonstandard characteristics that aren't simple plug and play with typical aftermarket speakers. They are like component speakers with no crossover (electronic crossovers are in the amp), and the rear speakers are coaxial (dual) speakers that are on separate amp channels (total of 4 rear speakers on 4 amp channels). And as mentioned before it could actually be an amp channel, not the speaker that is blown.

When the bass and volume go up slightly the rear right speaker has a nasty sound. If the bass is at "0" and the fade is adjusted more to the front it's ok. I will have the agency address it. Thanks for your replies

I love my HK speakers -- granted it's been just under a month, but they sound great and put just the right amount of THUMP in my Clubbie.

Does the non-HK hifi amp have the same feature?
I am about halfway through adding HKs to my early-2009 hifi R56, and it'd be nice to know if I should budget for an amp swap down the road as well.
